4th Annual President's Choice Prize Winners
Great Publicity! Kudos to the publicist for this book and to all of you who do such great PR for your books! The contests I sponsor were created to give authors an even larger platform to let the world know about their books and I am proud and happy. ELLEN
Thank you so much, Julie and Marsha, for all you do for authors!
As an author, you must take charge of the promotion of your book by investing in key pieces of book publicity to spread the word and increase visibility for your work. This includes entering book award contests. The authors that we represent have found this contest to be a terrific way to bring attention to their books, garner more third party validation and provide another hook for promotion after the book has already been published and out for a while. Do your self a favor and enter today!

When a book wins a contest, it gives the book more credibility to the media, especially with so many books published every year. But I think the value may be even greater to consumers, (assuming the contest winner uses it in all their marketing) it's a great endorsement for readers. We all use a variety of different measures when considering what new book to read…. but having that stamp on it says loud and clear - this book is a winner! That stamp is a statement that weighs heavily in its favor to everyone from the media to consumers.

ENTER MISS THANG Receives Most Honored LGBT Non-Fiction Book of 2014
Brian Edwards may be a celebrated talent executive, multi-award winning producer, writer and occasional performer, but to friends such as Cindy Crawford and Vanessa Williams, he is known quite simply as Miss Thang. The late, great Joan Rivers wrote the foreword and Crawford penned the introduction to his recent autobiography, "Enter Miss Thang," (published by Archway Publishing) which became a national best seller and ends the year as the most honored LGBT Non-Fiction Book of 2014.
"Enter Miss Thang" received top honors for Best Humor and Best Gay & Lesbian Non-Fiction at The USA Best Book Awards, (presented by USA Book News), which rounded out the current book awards season, where Edwards earned a total of ten national and international awards in various categories such as Humor, as well as dominating the field of LGBT Non-Fiction with wins at The International Book Awards, The Beverly Hills Book Awards and The National Indie Excellence Awards, where it was also named Best Autobiography of the Year.
CMA & Grammy Award winner Pam Tillis will be hosting a special reception in Nashville, Tennessee next month to celebrate Edwards and all of the honors the book has received.
In addition to collecting honors for his story, Edwards is using the book to help others. All royalties from sales of "Enter Miss Thang" are donated to God's Love We Deliver - a New York City-based 501c3 that delivers nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Supported self-publishing leader Author Solutions recognized Edward through its Real Authors Real Impact campaign last March.
“Awards screen and honor the great books from the many ordinary books. The prestigious Beverly Hills Book Awards bring attention to the best."

Dear Members of the Beverly Hills Book Awards® Family,
Yes, that’s you! Whether your book was a winner or finalist this year or not, because you are entrants in our contest you are very much a part of the BHBAwards Family.
As you know, we started this contest to support authors and publishers in their efforts to promote their books. And certainly a contest winner sticker on a cover helps it to stand out. However, we want to emphasize to all of you that the accomplishment of getting a book into print and into the marketplace makes you a winner.
In the years ahead we look forward to seeing your books and doing what we can to help encourage the cause of authors who have the courage to put their work into the public eye. We want you to know we stand with you, we cheer you on, and we will continue to champion all who put their ideas, their creativity and their hearts forward in the wonderful endeavor of creating books.
Wishing you the very best of success in all your publishing endeavors.

Hi Ellen, Thank you so much!
I am thrilled and honoured to be a winner of the 4th annual Beverly Hills International awards! I have announced it today on social media with a video message, which you can see here, and it's getting a great reaction! Also attached please find a photo of me with my book. I would be happy to provide a testimonial for the website, or feel free to share my photo and video.
Thanks you again,
All the best,

Diary of a Shanghai Showgirl
I am so overwhelmed and grateful that Inflection Point was chosen as the winner in the new non-fiction category in the 2015 Beverly Hills Book Awards contest that I am finding it difficult to know where to start this note of appreciation. On Thursday, March 24, I underwent full hip replacement surgery, the inevitable end result of a fall down the marble staircase in Grand Central Station in New York City three years before. On Saturday, as I returned from the hospital in a haze of anesthesia and pain-induced fog, this news was waiting for me! Talk about an instant upward lift!
Any author is doubtless thrilled to have their work recognized as a literary contribution to the field, but I, as a first-time author, and a wounded soldier to boot, well, I just can't explain the thrill I experienced, not to mention the shot of adrenaline to my system that was doubtless good for my healing! This is my first book award which makes the acknowledgment even that much more special for me. The connection to LA is the final special aspect of this award, as my publisher, Marcus McGee, of Pegasus Books resides there.
Once again, thank you so very much, Ellen, and The Beverly Hills Book Awards judges. I can only imagine how difficult the task of judging books must be. Lastly, I would like to congratulate all the authors, as it is an accomplishment to write (and complete) any book.
Inflection Point, War and Sacrifice in Corporate America, A Memoir
At the outset, let me thank you personally as the President of the Beverly Hills Book Awards and the judges of this unique award, for honoring my book CLASSICS: Why we should encourage children to read them as a Winner in the Education Category at the 3rd Annual Beverly Hills International Book Awards.
It is truly an honor to receive such a prestigious award, which recognizes and celebrates excellence in book publishing. To be told that my book met the high standards that this award celebrates, was truly humbling.
As an indie author, I find that all the recognized awards, are closed to those who self-publish their books, even though we may meet and may even exceed the standards set by the traditional publishers. I never hesitate to offer my books for scrutiny at book awards, as they afford me an opportunity to expose my writings to judges who view and judge my book according to the judging criteria that each award uniquely celebrates. Yours is one such award which not only celebrates excellence in writing but also excellence in book publishing.
I have proudly downloaded the HiRes images seals, which you have offered free standards that to all award winners. The paperback version of my book, proudly displays my award seal.
Thank you once again, for doing so much for us indie authors. It will be my honor to participate in the 2016 Beverly Hills International Book Award.
With warm regards,
One of the most effective marketing tools in your press kit is the coverage your title receives for winning a book award. Newspapers, magazines, online critics, and bloggers love to write about award-winning books. Plus, readers like to read award-winning recommendations and refer them to their friends and family.
Another benefit of winning a book award is that it gives the author (and publisher) added prestige. Bookstores and libraries typically take a second, longer, look at books designated as finalists and winners. This translates into more hand-selling by your favorite personal book distributors.
Congratulations on launching the Beverly Hills Book Awards®!
There is nothing as elegant as a beautifully designed and printed book, and your new awards will bring greater awareness of this fine art form to a wider audience. What an excellent choice to invite a respected journalist like Fred Klein to introduce the awards on-line. Thanks for your commitment to excellence in publishing.

Sylvia Cary has won three awards for The Therapist Writer -- the "Gold" in the 2013 Global Ebook Awards (for the digital version of the book); "Winner" in the 2013 Beverly Hills Book Awards, and "Finalist" in the 2013 National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA).
"There are so many perks to being 'the author of' a published book," she says. "It's the quickest way for a therapist or any other professional to be seen as an expert. It's instant credibility. It can help your career or business, help others, and you may even make money!"
